Whispers of the Heart

Whispers of the Heart

Whispers of the Heart

Life’s game, a delicate dance,
Each wish granted, a price to prance.
I’m hesitant to ask, to bid or pray,
Lest life’s balance shifts, and I lose my stance.
Life’s plans, a mysterious weave,
Give and receive , a deal hard to conceive.
I’ll hold dear what I have, my peaceful soul
And navigate life’s journey, with what I perceive.
Life’s balance sheet, an unsettling score,
Each wish granted, a treasure lost forevermore.
I tremble to ask, to plead or sigh,
Lest life’s cruel hand takes away what I dearly adore
I’ve paid the price, the cost of desire,
A piece of my soul, a heart’s burning fire.
The ache of what’s lost, a hollowed space,
Echoes of memories, a bittersweet wreath I wear
Life’s plans, a mysterious, heartless design,
Takes with one hand, and gives with the other in vain.
I’m left with tears, and a heart that’s worn,
Longing for what’s lost, forever in pain.
Heart’s wish, a whispered prayer,
A fragile hope, that life may spare.
Each wish made, with trembling caution,
Lest joy’s fleeting, and love’s rare.
I’m content with what I have, my heart’s nest,
Don’t want to gamble with life’s unrest.
The unknown cost, a precious toll,
I’d rather cherish what’s mine, and rest.
